Applications are invited for a position in Interaction Design at the Mads Clausen Institute, University of Southern Denmark. The position is available from August 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Mads Clausen Institute is a dynamic work environment with 75 employees engaged in research and teaching in the fields of mechatronics engineering, innovation & business, and design.
This position will contribute to the interdisciplinary research environment SDU Design in Kolding that brings together researchers from the Faculties of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Engineering to develop new directions in the field of design. Expect to collaborate with design anthropologists, interaction analysts, business designers, design historians! We build on a strong tradition of practice-based research and close collaboration with industry.
This position in Interaction Design will support our research in tangible interaction, embodied design, experience design, critical design. We are looking for a strong prototyper, who can combine conceptual form with digital behaviour.
Applicants must have a masters degree in design or engineering and a PhD within the field of interaction design. Successful candidates will have skills in experimental design research and co-design experience. Candidates with a track record of industry collaboration, successful fundraising and dissemination both in and beyond academia will be preferred. The assistant professor is a 3-year temporary position.
Teaching responsibilities for the position relate to the MSc in IT Product Design (Kolding) and the BEng in Interaction Design (Sønderborg). Teaching language is English, and our programmes attract students from all over the world to create a unique blend of creative energy. This position requires expertise in beneficially combining research and teaching activities.
As part of the overall assessment of the applicant’s qualifications, an interview may be applied.
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations), Cirkulære om overenskomst for Akademikere i staten 2013
